Re: can't access run dialog after enabling desktop effects
It's a known bug when using compiz with KDE. the workaround I used is this:
1. Run compiz config settings manager (ccsm)
2. On the general page, go to the bindings tab and disable "run command"
3. On the "commands" tab, make a command 0 (or any open number) as:
dcop kdesktop KDesktopIface popupExecuteCommand
4. Under "key bindings", set alt-f2 as the binding for command 0 (or whatever command number you assigned in the last step).Dell Optiplex 580<br />Kubuntu 10.10 + backports

I am facing the same problem. Would appreciate any help.
