Lost Sound in Hardy Kubuntu

Hey guys what's shakin?

I recently installed KDE4 Core and when I switched my X Environment Session back to KDE3 my sound seemed to have vanished.

Quite strange.

I appreciate any form of help

Double check that the sound card is correctly enabled, and it might be a bit of a stretch, but since you didn't mention any troubleshooting you have already performed, check that kmix isn't muted.
