Can anyone help with Three Mobile Broadband?

    Hi,

I am completely new to Linux and Kubuntu. I have just installed the operating system, which appears to be working fine.

The problem is I can't get Kubunto to recognise my Three Mobile Braodband dongle. When I plug it in to the USB port it simply isn't recognised. It works fine with Windows XP, so I know the dongle works. Kubuntu will recognise other hardware plugged into the USB, such as the mouse or a memory stick. Any ideas on how I can get my Three mobile broadband dongle to work?

    Many thanks,
    Steve.

Kubuntu doesn't have drivers for that sort of device built in. Try http://www.linmodems.org/

Also google around to see if anyone has written a driver for it

Perhaps if all else fails, you might have to write your own

Start by looking at "[SOLVED] 3 (UK) Mobile Broadband" on http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=804977 and then, perhaps, look at "3 Mobile Broadband USB Modem" on http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=609534
