can't type in applicationsnnn

Hello Everyone
I installed compiz, hated it, uninstalled it, rebooted and now I can't type in kate or konsole , or pop up configuration boxes such as opening an unmounted drive. Also I can't move around the desktop any app I load. I'm running Kubuntu 8.04. If anyone can advise please help.

Hmmm -- sounds like you disabled something in KDE. Can you describe the process you used for uninstalling Compiz?
