now all I get is a blank screen were the flash video is supposed to be. Thanx for that command line, at least I don't see the flash text prompting me to download flash player.

still tryna get this to work - anyone, I have been on linux for a day.

to install the one from the adobe site:

How to install Linux Flash player 9
        Linux (.tar.gz)

        1. Click the "Download .tar.gz" link. A dialog box will appear asking you where to save the file.
        2. Save the .tar.gz file to your desktop and wait for the file to download completely.
        3. Unpack the file. A directory called install_flash_player_9_linux will be created.
        4. In terminal, navigate to this directory and type ./flashplayer-installer to run the installer. Click Enter. The installer will instruct you to shut down your browser(s).
        5. Once the installation is complete, the plug-in will be installed in your Mozilla browser. To verify, launch Mozilla and choose Help > About Plug-ins from the browser menu.

            download this http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/downl...ShockwaveFlash

            Download the tar.gz file.

            in terminal - cd Desktop

            then

            tar -xf tarfilename-useTABfornamecompletion

cd to that now untared folder

            ./flashplayer-installer

            close out all browsers

y if it sees ur .mozilla folder in your /home/username directory

            then

            y to proceed.

            perform another install - n

            re-open ur browsers

alas completely remove the one from the repo first. ie: synaptic.adept,etc.. and now you can remove of course the tared file, or move it to another place, etc.. for backup, etc.. alas again u don't need the untared folder contents if u don't want them u can delete that folder now and all its' contents.

              hi

              I finally figured it out

              1. I downloaded tar.gz for linux from http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/downl...ShockwaveFlash

2.saved the file onto my desktop the file

              3. extracted the file to my desk top,

              4. went into the folder install_flash_player_9_linux

              5. dragged install_flash_player_9_linux into console (the shell script, not the .so file)

              and thats it.
