I use FireFTP, and I love it. I was sad the whole time I was using the Firefox3 beta, because it hadn't been updated to work yet, but I recently got it back and I've been so happy.

If you look in KInfoCenter, you'll see a listing of all the protocols in your system. And there's probably more out there. The KIO / IO slave system in KDE is excellent!

No. The link is merely an example showing the syntax you use. ftp://ftp.ftpsite.net isn't real. The ftp:// is the prefix syntax used in Konqueror if you are going to be connecting to an ftp site as apposed to a standard web site (which you access via http:// or if a secure site, https://)

I did that - and I got all the files and folders on my hard drives after I logged in.
Great.
I wanted to manage the ftp, so that I could create password, see who is logged on etc - Just want the interface.
How can I get an interface?
thanx Snowhog and everyone on the forum.

What you seem to be wanting to do requires the installation/configuration of an FTP Server. proftpd:
ProFTPd is a powerful replacement for wu-ftpd. This File Transfer Protocol daemon supports hidden directories, virtual hosts, and per-directory ".ftpaccess" files. It uses a single main configuration file, with a syntax similar to Apache.
Because of the advanced design, anonymous-FTP directories can have an arbitrary internal structure (bin, lib, etc, and special files are not needed). Advanced features such as multiple password files and upload/download ratios are also supported.

Meaning, your problem is solved? If 'yes,' please return to your first post in this thread and click the modify button and add SOLVED to the subject line.
