    kbfx app working in hardy?

    [img width=400 height=300]http://img206.imageshack.us/img206/9596/notworkingsi4.png[/img]

I download the kbfx theme kollide and placed it at /Home/myname/Document/.
Then I ran the kbfx program, and click install the kollide theme. Then I clicked Apply, and nothing changed. I also tried a reboot, and a shutdown with no change.

Oh, none of the default themes changed after I clicked apply either.

Re: Whats the terminal code to give permission to install a kbfx at /usr/share/.

Urr, you seem to have a problem with the forum mechanics. when trying to post the address of an Image Shack image please use the forum mode url notation instead of the html notation. The forum software doesn't obey html commands.

That said, I deduce that you downloaded a gzipped tar file that required root permissions to install. Therefore, you have two choices: (1) Use kdesudo (or whatever the KDE4 equivalent is) or (2) open a Konsole or Yakuake terminal (or whatever the KDE4 equivalent is) and enter the command
    Code:
    tar -xvf KBFX.tar.gz
Depending on the way that the tarball was generated (and where you extracted it), you may need to move the resulting directory tree to /usr/share/apps/kbfx/skins/.

BTW, if you're really new to Linux, you should probably use KDE3, at this time, even though it is soon to be obsolete. KDE4 really isn't ready for new users at this time. At least, that's my opinion.

      Alt+F2
      Then -type- Klicker
Then -right click in a open space- and add 'kbfx.
