I have been running kde4 for several days now, and things seem to be working alright on my system. Will I lose any functions if I uninstall kde3? I ask because some functions seem to be exclusive for kde3, while others appear in duplicate. Will I have to reinstall some programs from repo, like Kaffeine?

I'm curious - are you short on disk space?
KDE 4.0 is still a work in progress. You may want to try this on a test system (or install on a spare drive), if you can.
IMHO, I'd wait at least until 4.1 is out, and then update to it. Take a look at some of the posts at http://dot.kde.org/ - it may help you decide.
