    Playing VCDs

I upgraded to 8.04 from 7.10. I had all my multimedia working in 7.10 and thought I had it all working in 8.04. Today I tried to play one of my VCDs in Kaffeine Player and got this error:
    Codec package is already installed
At which point it stopped trying to play the media.

Any suggestions as to what I should do to get it working?

That just tells me that I have the latest installed already.

Yes, I'm having some similar problems with Kaffeine. Every time I try to play a commercial DVD or I get an error message that I must run sudo /usr/share/doc/kaffeine/install-css.sh before I can play it. I run the script which downloads and installs libdvdcss2 and downgrades my currently installed version to an older version.. But when I then try to play the DVD, I still get the same error message and the DVD still won't play. Of course, when I run upgrade, the newer version is reinstalled.

And these encrypted DVDs open and play fine in VLC.
