Help with installing unrar (Solved) via tanderson

I want to extract a rar file, so I downloaded unrar from here- http://packages.ubuntu.com/gutsy/i386/unrar/download


What do I do with the .deb file that I just downloaded?

If you look at the page it does recommend installing under Synaptic or Aptitude. It gives you a line to link to the repository.

BUT, if it appears as a .deb you could try RIGHT clicking on it and choose install under GDebi Package installer.

copy and paste the following in the terminal window.

sudo apt-get install unrar
