Just installed kubuntu, how do I increase my screen resolution?

I did a search through the forums and found a couple of things to try, but to no avail.

When I go to the settings for the screen resolution the highest it offers is
800x600, how do I get this to increase?

I have an Nvidia 7600gs card, and I have enabled the restricted driver for nvidia.

Please help, as this is hard on the eyes lol!

    Yep, I'm sure you're squinting!

Try Alt-F2 "kdesu nvidia-settings" with no quote marks.

On the "X Configuration" tab (or something like that) set your resolution to whatever you want. I would advise AGAINST trying to set the refresh rate -- just leave it on "auto" so the driver and card can adapt to whatever you are doing. Click the "detect displays" and it might recognize your CRT or LCD. In the lower right is a button named "Save to X Configuration File". Click that, "x" the "Merge" box, and save.

In the future, you can issue Alt-F2 "nvidia-settings" to change the settings for just the one boot session, but you have to use "kdesu nvidia-settings" and "save to X configuration file" to change the default settings.

Let us know when you're ready to overclock your card.
