    quick small HDD question

sorry if this is a repeat post, but i could not find a satisfactory answer on the forums. a friend of mine has an OLD computer and was wanting to play around with linux on it. the problem is that he has a 1.5 GB HDD. any suggestions on how to partition this drive into /root, /home, and /swap and what distro of kubuntu to use? thanks...

1.5? Man, that's small. While an experienced person might be able to get it all on there okay, if he's new he'd be better served using a custom distro like Damn Small Linux. That distro's so small you can even load the whole thing up into the ramdisk and not even need a hard disk drive at all!

I would also suggest Puppy Linux. Either way, I think 1.5GB is way to small for Kubuntu. For most purposes, 8GB is minimum, at least from what I've seen others say and do.
