The following packages will be upgraded:

2 upgraded, 1 newly installed, 360 to remove and 42 not upgraded.
2 not fully installed or removed.
Need to get 20.7MB of archives.
After unpacking 1224MB disk space will be freed.
Do you want to continue [Y/n]?
apt-get autoremove obviously just tells me to use -f.

What the heck do I do...I can't have adept uninstall all of these packages (especially adept itself)

is there anything besides a clean install

What version of Kubuntu are you running? Do you still have the cdrom repository 'active' in Adept Manager? If you do, uncheck/remove it. Then run:
    Code:
    sudo apt-get update
    to refresh the package caches.
Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.
