Clicking on hyperlinks within Google Earth will not activate an external browser or e-mail composition window. If I click on a link on say a Wikipedia bubble, I am always shown the following dialogue...
Could not launch any web browser. Please make sure you have set $BROWSER environment variable to the filename of the web browser we should launch.
Trying to activate an e-mail produces this dialog...
“We are about to try opening an e-mail composition window. Since there isn't a unified way to do this in Unix, we send a mailto: URL to your browser, but this may not work. If you don't get an email composition window that's already filled out, please check the setting of your $BROWSER environment variable and that your browser can handle mailto: URLs with 'attach=' fields.
