I've been using Kubuntu Hardy with KDE 3.5 for the past 3 three weeks and although I am impressed with many aspects of this OS, for the most part I remain deeply frustrated with it.
Can anybody recommend any fixes or advice with regard to any of the following?
I chose to use Mozilla Thunderbird as my e-mail client because I am familiar with it on my PC. The structure of the program is, as expected exactly the same here on Linux as the PC, however there seems to be a shortfall. Hyperlinks, whether to web URLs or e-mail addresses do not work. This means that one has to cut and paste all links into a browser or new message window rather than simply click on the links.
It doesn't stop there. I believe the same problem also lies behind the fact that selecting 'help' from the Help menu, again produces no result, when it should activate a browser window and take the user to the Mozilla website help pages. It is self defeating.
Similarly the hyperlink connection from the Add-ons window, also fails to stimulate a browser window taking me to the Mozilla add-ons pages.
I'm just perplexed.
