    My computer is a Toshiba satellite a60 celeron 2.8 GHz, 768 (256 + 512) megs of ram.

The graphics card is an ati radeon igp 7000 which allocates ram memory..

In System Settings (i guess its called that... using swedish translation and dont know the english name for it..(found in K-menu)) the hardware is detected as follows:

    Graphics card: ATI Radeon (fglrx)
    Driver: ati

Re: glxgears result ati igp 7000

Can you go post a copy of your xorg.conf? Pretty sure that the 7000 isn’t supported by the Ati drivers anymore. What you can do is get some acceleration by changing the driver line in xorg.conf from ‘ati’ to ‘radeon’, I have tried this and there is an improvement though you will still be using Mesa rather than full OpenGL acceleration (my laptop has the Radeon mobility 7000 M6 LY (?) and I too can’t get full 3D acceleration which is a shame as I now have to dual boot to play games). For newer cards you would use ‘fglrx’ driver for full 3D.
