Oh yuck - - I believe this is what happened to me just recently.

Which Nvidia drivers did you use. I tried the ones from the Nvidia web site and had nothing but problems. No Desktop. Both32 and 64 bit editions of 7.10

After reloading (not what you want to do) I used only the Nvidia drivers from the repository. I don't have the resolution I want at this point, but I'm back up and running.

I know it's not what your looking for, but you may want to determine which drivers you "turned on" as a reference.

      Re: kubuntu remix and nvdia

I have a couple of questions:
      1. I would like you to confirm you have a nvidia Quadro NVS 140M. Enter at a konsole:
      Code:
      lspci | grep nVidia
and post the output here. If there's no output at all, post the output of
      Code:
      lspci
      2. Do you have any GUI or a you left alone at the terminal?
      3. Do you remember what package you installed exactly? E.g., did you install nvidia-glx, nvidia-glx-new or nvidia-glx-legacy?
If you don't have a gui, you can enter at a terminal:
      Code:
      dpkg-query -l | grep nvidia
      . Post the output here.

We can then start to determine if you have installed the wrong package.
