Fresh Install - Weird Stripy Screen!

I just installed Ubuntu for the first time... I am not new to linux though! But as soon as it boots up it gives me a screen filled with pinkish purple and black stripes...

Anyone have any idea why?

Hi,

It seems that your screen is not well declared, you should go in tty mode, login and reconfigure it :
<Ctrl>+<Alt>+<F1>
login
sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
Be sure to use good drivers, frequencies and resolution, or it will not work better
