i think i'm posting too much in this forum. anyway, i've tried to install Java 6.0 on my hardy kde 4 and it jammed in the installation. i've manually closed the program and since then (half an hour ago) it's been messed up. first i wasn't able to open it, now i can open it but i can't remove the corrupted java installation, nor can i install or remove anything else. how can i remove the damn thing? if i try it myself through the "apt-get remove sun-java6-jre" which MIGHT be the problematic file i risk #&%$ing up the whole system, no?

Re: java installation jammed
hopefully this is the old "adept is crap" issue.
try the following...
a) start a konsole
b) enter the following command
Code:sudo apt-get install --fix-broken
if it does...
the installation will stop to ask you to accept the license (this is where things go wrong with adept)
scroll down
reply "yes"
all shoud then get back to normal.
let me (us) know...

Re: java installation jammed
ok, after i've figured out that you have to use the "tab" button to move to the OK that has been plaguing me for the past few hours (after i restarted 7 times) and now it's solved. thanks.
btw, i did not suggest "adept was crap" even though i did say i've crapped it up. i've also had my fair share of almost destroying the openSUSE package installer,
