I am a newbie at kubuntu and i don't know how to config my modem. I have a loptop acer travelmate 291LMi. Can anybody help me?

This question or something like it has been asked frequently. I haven't used a modem in so long, I don't remember how to configure one, (something with AT blah blah in some file?), but I do know how you can find out.

Near the top of this page there are five blue buttons. The middle button is labeled search. Click it. Another page will show up with a text box to fill. Enter the word "modem". Click on "search". You will get five pages of topics about modems. Perhaps, you think that there are too many topics for you to read them all? In that case, use advanced search to narrow your search. I could not do that because you did not specify what kind of modem (acoustic, ADSL, cable), what kind of connecttion you have to the modem (pci board, pcmcia card, usb, ??) or what you want to know.
