When i restart my computer with the kubutu CD in it my widows contiues to boot up how can i get it to run the kubuntu live cd so i can install it

It sounds like your BIOS is set to boot first from the Windows hard drive.
You need to adjust the BIOS settings.
The "boot order" (as listed in BIOS) should be:
first: CD/DVD ROM
2nd: your Windows hard drive

First, you will need to check your computer's bios to see if it set to boot from a cd rom before looking for a hard drive to boot from. Often there are also keystroke options to select what device to boot from. The exact steps vary, but usually involve hitting Delete, or F1 when you first start booting up.

to make sure you have burned the cd iso image correctly
