    Problems with Envy

I was looking how to get 3d desktop environment (Compiz) working properly and I stumbled upon
topic about Envy, so I decided to install it. Before meddling with Envy i uninstalled default Nvidia driver
and then i went to Envy and clicked on auto detect hardware. It starts detecting but after a while I get
    this message:
    Code:
/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/apt/__init__.py:18: FutureWarning: apt API not stable yet
warnings.warn("apt API not stable yet", FutureWarning)
What does it mean. If this mean that auto detect doesn't work which driver should it choose, I have 6600.

A bit O.T.: How do you get Compiz to work so that you can have more than just 2 desktops, and so
that you have proper 3d cube.

    Re: Problems with Envy

    AAAAA!
I (stupidly) decided not to wait for reply and install drivers manually, i went to adept
manager and checked which drivers i have and decided to install 192.14.
It still gave me the error (writen above) but I restarted my computer anyway.
When computer came to the point of loading x-server it just buonce back and forth between
konsole mode of Kubuntu and hint of x-server.
I tried sudo kdm it didn't work (I contined to do what it was doing before).
Before this hapen I get this error:
Kinit: no resume image, doing normal boot. And then it goes to konsole mode.
    Please help.
(probably i'll go and see how can i uninstall envy and its driver from konsole mode)
O plus I do have Envy NG (I know)
And one more thing on Envy site it said that in order for installing you have to preform this:
    sudo /etc/init.d/kdm stop
Could this be the problem; If so how can i fix it.

Boot recovery mode. At the prompt, which should be a "#" indicating you are the Super User, enter this:

      Code:
      envy -t
If it is a "$" prompt, then the command is
      Code:
      sudo envy -t
And then follow the menus. I would FIRST choose to uninstall the driver, then when you are back to the prompt, run
      Code:
      envy -t
again, and this time choose to install the driver.

From the GUI, you would have to do Ctrl-Alt-F1 to get to the terminal, then
      Code:
      sudo /etc/init.d/kdm stop
to shut down the X server (KDM). Then you could follow the above process.

        Can't load x server / kdm /

Well I again didn't wit for an answer, and did evrything from command prompt
I decided that for the time being the best thing is to uninstall Envy.
I did that then i used autoremove to remove everything else that could stay behind. I then restarted my compuetr, but it still didn't load properly.
So I thought that maybe the problem is not in Envy, it might be that i installed
Virtual box and made virtual disk on my main disk. This kinti error before it say what I wrote befor it say it wants to boot from certain device, but it can't.
Im guessing that that device is virtual disk, I did uninstall virtual box, but nothing changed, so i put PCLinuxOS(whic copletely works from CD) Live cd in
and tried to find this virtual device and removet by deliting it, well I thought i
found it but Today I found out that this didn't work. Next thing I'm giong to do
is to out Kubutnu live CD in and try to find this device in dolphin (I know that there's an folder where all devices are named, but I couldn't find it in PCLinuxOS. I this won't work i will temporally migrate to OpenSUSE.

If anyone knows what the problem is pleas help
