Skype and other ways of chat?

Hi, I'm new here.... can anyone help me? Tried to install Skype on my computer, it only registers as a file but I can use it... does anyone know how to?

and how does it work for MSN chat?

Hi, I'm new here as well, and I seem to have the same problem. So I will be watching to see if anybody posts a solution. The easiest way to do msn-chat I guess would be to download the amsn program from the repository.
But I want my Skype back!! (I also seem to have the same problem with Opera)

Pidgin (in the repos) or kooka for msn.

Install from adept/synaptic or sudo apt-get install.

You will find skype in kmenu->internet.
