Installing tar.gz files

I have installed application Kinstaller but it always fails to install any tar.gz files
Are this files even installable or do you just unpack them to certain location?

You've gotta unpack them, there is usually an installer inside. Most places you dl from have installation instructions. They'll tell you from command line type ''installer.sh'' or ''flashplayer-installer'' etc.

Thanks I went on that page again and found out taht I downloaded wrong stuff...
Now I think it should work...
