hello im pretty new to Linux and i was trying to install beryl onto my gutsy 7.10 but every time i need to put in my password in the konsole it wont let me type in that space. if anyone could shed some light on my situation i would greatly appreciate it, thanks.

First off welcome. Ok so Beryl is no longer a package in Gutsy. Compiz and Beryl have rejoined forces and now the package is just compiz so sudo apt-get install compiz
When the Konsole prompts you for your password nothing will show up in there when you type the cursor will not move just type in your password and role with it. Hope that helps.Kubuntu II on both Laptop and Desktop and some servers here at the office -

i put in that code and the pass and it worked and started installing then it finished and it started a new line, I then restarted my computer and logged in and it doesn't seem like it worked unless i have to do anything else. Your help is greatly appreciatedComment
