I have set KPDF as the default (in fact only) pdf app. When I click on a pdf file in FF it pops up KGhostView, claiming it is default. What is going on? Help appreciated.

Re: Setting kpdf as default doesn't work in Firefox
Kmenu--->System Settings--->Default Applications----->applications
Come down to pdf and make sure kpdf is the only one there. Delete ghostview if it's still there. Click apply then okChallenges are what that keeps us from the borderline of boredom in life's journey. Linux user no. 419401 currently running Kubuntu 24.04

Re: Setting kpdf as default doesn't work in Firefox
Princey: When I go to Default Applications via Kmenu, I do not see any link to Applications. I would like to know what is going on to be able to set other default applications. Could you help?
Goeroeboeroe: I'll try the FF extension for pdf if I can. Thanks.

Re: Setting kpdf as default doesn't work in Firefox
When I bring up Default Applications, I only get the side panel containing Email Client, etc. (the right panel in your picture) but not the panel with Default Applications and File Associations (the left panel). Possibly some config is missing?

Re: Setting kpdf as default doesn't work in Firefox
In Kong. KPDF was set as default (KGhost second on list). I deleted all except KPDF. Several questions: 1) Since KPDF was set as default but KGhost kept popping up in FF, it appears that File Assoc set in Kong do not affect all apps, in particular FF. 2) What has happened in Gutsy to the System Settings way of setting file associations, which should be a global way of doing this.
