Holy .... =)

This was harder than I thought,

I'm now trying to connect from my Windows computer to my Linux computer.
I have folowed this guide http://kubuntu101.blogspot.com/2005/...ing-samba.html

But it still promts a username & passwd!
I have tried with my root username & passwd.
I have also tried to set a username & passwd here -> System Settings>Sharing>Local Network Browsing.

But nothing helps!

Do you have the allow simple sharing button clicked? Did you open allowed users and click the "allow all users to share folders" button clicked?

I discovered a thing thats a bit odd.

I have tried to folow a series of guides and the are often refering to System Settings > Internet & Network > Samba.

The thing is that theres no samba icon.

Should there be an icon?

Hi,

It's just because it should be in kcontrol, not in system settings
Launch it by typing kcontrol and you will see Internet & network > Samba

Thats a thing i didn't know.

I found it and confiquerd my samba settings and now its working.
