    My network card is dead...

KNetwork Manager has stopped working, it shows no wireless networks, I've managed to set the configurations to "Manual", can't seem to set the settings back to Automatic, and when I click at the icon for KNetwork Manager down in the right corner, i get: "Device: No active device".

Please help me, I'm lost without wireless internet!

I assume your wireless is known as eth1

        Does entering

        Code:
        sudo ifup eth1
        throw up any errors

Also what card are you using? what version of kubuntu. It may just be a case of reinstalling the drivers after a kernel update.

When I enter that code i get: Ignoring unknown interface eth1=eth1.

When I try sudo ifup eth0, I get this:

I use Kubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon, but I don't know what card I have...is that very relevant?
