How can I get Kubuntu to link with Belkin Network USB Hub F5L009

I have just installed Kubuntu 7.10 and have no problems so far. However it has not been able to link into the household Windows network and the very vital Belkin Network USB Hub (F5L009). I have samba installed and have even managed to install IE4Linux so how is it that I can't link into the household Windows (XP) network?
I can't get Samba to link into Windows icon. All I get is a long silence and then nothng. Is there anythng I am doing wrong? Is there any additional process to run through to integrate Kubuntu with the Windows network?

Are you trying to access a Windows share from Kubuntu? Have you tried using the IP address of the windows machine instead of host name?

Try something like this in the address bar of Konqueror:

    smb://ipaddress/sharename
