I haven't installed that version of kubuntu, but in ubuntu there is a restricted extras. You may want to try installing that. It installs all of the latest non free codecs and stuff. It helped me with some of the multimedia stuff.

      Re: flashplayer_plugin

ok i installed flashplayer from pop-up that allowed it to install automatically after that it still didn't work so I installed flashplugin-nonfree from adept manager that didn't make a difference so I just uninstalled now went to youtube no crash error this time. But still can't view videos? could you explane what you mean by restricted extras. also if i look in aboutlugins on the browser I get this info should I have this many shockwave flashplayer installed

Java Plug-in Java Plug-in KJAS for Konqueror kjavaappletviewer.so
      application/x-java-applet - Java Applet (class)
      application/x-java-bean - JavaBeans (jar)
      Shockwave Flash Shockwave Flash 9.0 r115 libflashplayer.so
      application/x-shockwave-flash - Shockwave Flash (swf)
      application/futuresplash - FutureSplash Player (spl)
      Shockwave Flash Shockwave Flash 9.0 r115 libflashplayer.so
      application/x-shockwave-flash - Shockwave Flash (swf)
      application/futuresplash - FutureSplash Player (spl)
      Shockwave Flash Shockwave Flash 9.0 r115 flashplugin-alternative.so
      application/x-shockwave-flash - Shockwave Flash (swf)
      application/futuresplash - FutureSplash Player (spl)
      Shockwave Flash Shockwave Flash 9.0 r115 flashplugin-alternative.so
      application/x-shockwave-flash - Shockwave Flash (swf)
      application/futuresplash - FutureSplash Player (spl)

can I just delete the installed .so and reinstall. thanks for the fast response.

        Re: flashplayer_plugin

I maybe wrong, but are you using Flash 9.0 r115 , which does Not work on "Gutsy Gibbon 7.10". Get the previous version of Flashplayer from their Website, that is what works on my system. Could never get Flashplayer 9.0 r115 to work, like you have just stated in my web browser. Search the forum for more details on how to uninstall/install old/new versions. Think it was in Announcements or Documentation section of Forum. Hope this helps.

                Re: flashplayer_plugin

still not working. I removed flash that I had installed but still no luck used information contained here https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/19584
I'm going to do a full upgrade of 7.10 as this is supposed to be fixed in the next version. This is becoming a real problem.

                  Re: flashplayer_plugin

In Konquerors location bar type aboutlugins If Shockwave Flash 9.0 r115 is listed, and not Shockwave Flash 9.0 r48, then you still have the r115 libflashplayer.so file in your ~/.mozilla/plugins directory, your /usr/lib/flashplugin-nonfree directory, or both. Root owns the file in the /usr/lib/flashplugin-nonfree directory.

You only want the r48 of libflashplayer.so in both directories. The r48 file (on my laptop at least) is 6.7 MB in size. The r115 is 7.7 MB.
