Need help installing a Canon printer

Hi guys, i really need some help here. I am VERY satisfied with Kubuntu, and how well i have taken to it, hell i even learned a few beginner commands.

Anyways, i really need help installing my Canon MP160 to my system, and i can't find anything in the list of printer drivers in the system settings, and i've tried a whole bunch of other canon drivers. The most i was able to do was get the printer to grab the paper but not actually print anything on it, just push it out the other side, as if it were printed on.

I would really love to get this printer up and running. It's the only piece of hardware that i can't get installed.

    Thanks

You should look at turboprint and then decide if it is worth paying for a license.

Is it me or have they recently doubled their prices, I am sure it did not used to be so expensive.

http://openprinting.org/show_printer...on-PIXMA_MP160 claims to have a solution for you if you want to try it before shelling out $$

      and http://mambo.kuhp.kyoto-u.ac.jp/~takushi/#canon

They didn't have a solution for your exact printer, but they may be like many of the HP printers and you may be able to use a slightly different driver to do the same thing.

It might be worth clicking through to see if it was something that you haven't tried yet.

      Hope that helps.
