Activating "HOTPLUG"

Hi sorry for this stupid question and realy bad spelling.

OK, i had some problems when i had install kubuntu 5.10 during the part when it was starting the hotplug service, but i manage to get past this whit "chmod -x /etc/init.d/hotplug" but now i cant reach the wifi card or my eternal harddrive. so im just asking how to activate it agien preferable with out reinstalling kubuntu.

hehe figured out it my self just use "chmod +x /etc/init.d/hotplug"
