Stupid Firefox question

When I want to put an icon on my desktop from Firefox, I used to just click and drag it on to the desktop. Konqueror does this, but Firefox will not. It creates a text file and asks me for a name for the text file.

That sounds great, only when I right click on the url, all I get is an option to "cut, copy, paste, delete, or select all", or if I click on the icon at the beginning of the url, I get a toolbar selection tool.

Having read through more thoroughly your last message, I realize that you think I am trying to put a Firefox link for the program on my desktop. What I am trying to do is link to a website, like Foxnews or something, that will open in Firefox.

I have tried what is suggested in a couple of other threads I have found, copying the text of the url and then right clicking on the desktop and selecting "Create New:Link to Location (url).." but when I do this, I get an url that opens Konqueror, instead of Firefox, even though I copied the url out of a Firefox window.

Main
And check "Always check that Firefox is the default browser."

You've raised a good question as I've also noticed Konqueror popping open now and then, when I otherwise use FX. Haven't thought about this, but let's see how this plays out ...
