I decided I wanted to fool around with Rosegarden, Audacious etc and installed all dependencies. Now I think I am no longer running KDE. It says Kubuntu when I boot up, but otherwise it looks like I am running Ubuntu. When I boot up it says I have a problem with Gnome. When I go to change my wallpaper it says
Unable to start the settings manager 'gnome-settings-daemon'.
Without the GNOME settings manager running, some preferences may not take effect. This could indicate a problem with Bonobo, or a non-GNOME (e.g. KDE) settings manager may already be active and conflicting with the GNOME settings manager.
Before I had to Single-click on apps to start them, now I have to doubleclick. And I have a new Panel up at the top of my screen with Applications, Places, and System. Can someone clue this newbie in on what I am doing?
