Backup Question

Now that I'm running Kubuntu, if I use the Keep application, what directories do you recommend I back up?

I know I should backup home, but what other directories are useful to have in case of disaster?

Do you recommend using Keep with Kubuntu or another backup application?

Keep. Or, look into Partimage.
You should back up your personal /home/your_name, and, I believe, the entire Kubuntu root partition (all the root directories). That's another good reason to keep your root partition down in size (5-8 GB, or perhaps somewhat larger, but not exceeding 15 GB for most people; mine is 8 GB, but I only use 2-4 GB). That way, it's easy/quick to back up the root partition.

So, Partimage deserves a look.

and I got a bunch of neat stuff. Have a look.

(BTW, I use something else, a single command called dd, but it's really not the best for new folks or for people needing just a basic automatic canned program.)

Yeah, at this point, I think I need to stay will canned backup. I don't want to mess anything up -- at least until I have a backup!
