Trying to configure printer

I installed an Epson Stylus Photo 870 printer without a hitch but how do I configure it to just print in black and white rather than full color? Thanks.

Hey,

not really sure if it'll help but I think you "configure" the black&white option when you choose a particular document - not the printer overall. But of course I'm a just newbie...

Yes, when I come to print an item from my Epson I choose Print Properties and on the second tab select the paper quality and then colour or monocrome.
