    Terminal works, kmenu doesn't

I have just installed Gutsy after Feisty fouled up. I kept a copy of my FF .mozilla directory and inserted it into my Gutsy home page. When I tried to start FF using kmenu, it gave "Firefox is already running but it is not respondind". I deleted .parentlock and lock files in .mozilla, rebooted, uninstalled and reinstalled FF, each to no avail when trying to invoke FF from kmenu. I then discovered that I could get FF up with terminal (sudo firefox) and everything was perfect as it had been in Feisty. But I would like to have kmenu work. Does anyone have any ideas?

I am still having this problem and would appreciate any feedback, especially since I am told it is unsafe to use FF as root.

Have you checked the command line in Kmenu? i.e in 'Properties for firefox desktop - KDE Panel' under 'Application'

      I have:

      firefox %u

This is a 'shot-in-the-dark' response from a noob. All the best.

Thanks for the reply. In kmenu mine was also firefox %u. I changed it to "firefox" which is what I use in terminal but it didn't work.
