Re: No Sound
Sadly it didn't help, I did the lspci -v to see what Kubuntu sees the sound card as and this is what was shown.
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 02)
Subsystem: Dell Unknown device 0200
Flags: fast devsel, IRQ 20
Memory at fe9fc000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16K]
Capabilities: <access denied>
Alsa only shown up to the ICH7 famliy x.x Even at that idk how to get drivers for that >.> I'm a noob...

Re: No Sound
From this web site: http://www.valibuk.net/?p=47
I see that it might help to add this line: "options snd-hda-intel position_fix=1 model=ref" with no quote marks to the end of the file /etc/modules.d/snd_hda_intel
If you don't know how to do that, the general instruction would be this:
Alt-F2 "kdesu kate /etc/modules.d/snd_hda_intel" with no quote marks. The Kate editor will open, in Super User mode, with the file open. Cursor down to the last line of the file, if necessary do a "return" at the end of the last line of text, and then on a new last line enter "options snd-hda-intel position_fix=1 model=ref" with no quote marks. Then do a return at the end of that line. Then click "File>Save" to save it.
Then in a console window enter "modules-update" with no quote marks.
Finally, in the console, enter "/etc/init.d/alsasound restart".
Says here you should then have sound. I'll cross my fingers.

Re: No Sound
Got it working! Found a post where a guy couldn't get his wireless option working but got sound. (He has same labtop as me.) http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=710684 and he showed the a link to how he got it working. (http://users.piuha.net/martti/comp/d630/) I followed step by step and sound now works! .... Not so much for some wine programs but yea... Hopefully all we be better with next update on that. Of course now like the other guy there is no wireless option in Network. Oh well. I am not in dire need sense primary connection is cable and not wireless.
Thanks folks anyway for trying
