I'm running Kubuntu 7.04. For some reason I can't get the Konqueror browser to connect to web sites. Keep getting "An error occurred while loading www*****. Couldn not connect to host www*****". Yet the latest version of Firefox works just fine. Anyone know the answer to this? Thanks.

Re: Can't get Konqueror browser to work
I don't have an answer, but I too am having same problem.
My version of konqueror is 3.5.8
My version of kubuntu was 7.10 but now reads
using this terminal command: uname -a
Linux 2.6.22-14-generic #1 SMP Tue Feb 12 02:26:46 UTC 2008 x86_64 GNU/Linux
My problem with konqueror is that it hangs when I try to browse http://www.google.com. I can browse other sites but not google. There are a few other websites that produce stange behaviors such as displaying large red prohibit (verbotten) icons all over the page when trying to browse http://www.yahoo.com, but at least something appears onscreen and the search function works.
With google.com I don't see anything. It's totally blank. Not even an error message appears.
Don't know what to do. I've been using konqueror for two months without any problems. This problem just started several hours ago.
The only thing new today is that adept updated cups today.
Can anyone fix this?

Re: Can't get Konqueror browser to work
I realized based in a forum somewhere in Google (!...) that this message "couldn't connect to host www..." appears when knetwork-manager seems messed up! For me this happens when I manage network from the command line, ignoring the knetwork-manager.
But I just close knetworkmanager to my Konqueror get to work as browser again, a nice browser for me! It seems konqueror requires from knetwork the active nets to listen to.
About the second problem, I don't know (maybe browser identification on settings?)
Good luck!... (sorry for my poor english, eita nóis, mermão!!!) 8)
