    Broadcom DW1390 wifi card issue

    Hello
I'm a total Kubuntu and Linux n00b. I just installed Gutsy today on my Inspiron 1521. There is not only no wifi but when I go to Network Settings there's no content in the window; it's just blank gray. Is there any way to get it to recognize my wifi card?

Please don't make me go back to Vista.

    Thank you in advance,
    Wharf

Update: After several tries, the Network Settings folder is now populated. I can see network devices on the Interfaces tab but neither they or the control buttons are selectable.
