right, to start, i'll add that i'm a gamer thats recently installed kubuntu as a partition with vista. I plan to use kubutu for my own personal experiment and experience. I am also heavily interested in Compiz Fusion.
Being a Windows user, i'm in need of alot of linux help. And because of this, i'd be heavily greatful if someone that had msn and a few spare minutes of there time could add me. Please message me Via forum. Thanks.
problem 1:
Installing stuff, i've been told multiple ways of installation now and its just so confusing. Some people tell me, right click, make executable... some say go into terminal, tap a million buttons.
i think (maby) that its something to do with files that are not compiled for me, like i got a firefox download, and teamspeak rc2 download for linux, simply right click, make executable, then run.
problem 2:
Running Mp3's in Amarok, it will tell me " You dont have the required Codec for that. Do you want to install it now? " I'd press Ok! and a minute later it would say, restart Amarok, i restarted. Load up a Mp3.... Same thing again.
Random query 1:
When i go through my files in my home folder, the files flicker greatly when i scroll. Any ideas of this? its not majorly important, just wondering.
Thanks for your time :]
