    ASUS A6R Wireless card...

I have an ASUS A6R laptop with built in wireless card... checked on windows device manager and all it says is ASUS 802.11g Wireless Adapter... i cant get it to run on Kubuntu at all.. i used the network manager, typed in my ESSID and WEP key, and i have no connection what so ever... and it doesnt seem to pick up my wireless network either, so im wondering if it is even compatible with kubuntu...

    Please Help

What you need to find out is the chipset.

Can you open konsole and type 'lspci'

This will give details on the actual wireless chipset, and so the correct method for activating wireless can be used.

Just thought I'd mention that I have an Asus A6J laptop (about 18 months old by now) and the wireless works fine for me here. So unless they have made changes to their wireless card supplier I reckon you should be able to get it working. Good Luck.
