    Kaffeine Won't Open!?!

    I REALLY like Kaffeine...

But suddenly it will not launch. I try to open it or to launch a video and I can see the program loading in the panel, but then it disappears and never opens.

I uninstalled and reinstalled from the 7.1 CD-ROM, but it didn't seem to change anything.

    Any suggestions?

    Oddly...

It will open if I run: kdesu kaffeine

But to do that everytime I want to play a vid is aggravating.

At the CLI (Command Line Interface),

      try typing this:

      groups
I don't know if it will help you out.....but it's worth giving it a shot.

Are you a member of the group "video", in other words, is "video" inthere ?

When it happens, try restarting X (Control+Alt+Backspace); or it'll work when you re-start the PC. Once you get it open, try not to keep clicking it open-closed-open-closed , just keep it open, or minimized.

          To get error messages:

          Testing Kaffeine (xine)

          Start kaffeine in the konsole
          Code:
          kaffeine --verbose
          --verbose Output xine debug messages
          and kaffeine installation check
          Code:
          kaffeine -w
          -w, --wizard Run installation wizard
