Suggestions Wanted for Volume Management and Formatting
Suggestions Wanted for Volume Management and Formatting
In both Windoze and Mac OS there are nice GUIs for managing the partitioning and formatting of disks of all sorts. Can everyone please suggest either some good GUIs or command line tools for disk management.
Re: Suggestions Wanted for Volume Management and Formatting
If you want a good disc partitioner and formatter, then I (as well as many others in the Forum) suggest downloading and burning GParted LiveCD. You can get it here. Avoid gparted-livecd-0.3.4-11 as this release has been reported to have some problems. The earlier release (gparted-livecd-0.3.4-10) is okay.

Re: Suggestions Wanted for Volume Management and Formatting
Thanks. I notice that there is a gparted app, could I use that for volumes other than my boot volume, such as an external HD or USB flash dirve, with little risk, or should I always use the live CD?
