    Problem with The Desktop CD

I downloaded Kubuntu (the desktop version) from the official website, and i transfered the iso file to a CD. I tried to boot from the CD and it installed and then it went to a screen that had "Kubuntu" across the screen, and a blue bar underneath it, but nothing happened.

    What should I do?

do you go through the complete installation setup?
if not then try the alternate cd from the website that might help
i also know that there is a limit on the speed of the disc
amke sure it is at least 16x i dont think it will take anything less than that

I tried to vary the write speed, but alas, no avail. I might try it again.

Reboot. From the menu press (F4?) to edit the boot option. Arrow over and delete both splash and quiet then arrow back to the end (right) of the line and press enter. See if you get further along.
