Killed my source.list+messed up Adept- how 2 reinstall

I wanted to add the voice over IP program Skype, using Adept instead of a manual install. So I added some unofficial repositories.

Okay, Adept got hung up and wouldn't open again. So I decided to edit my source list using kate. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, kdesu kate wouldn't show up.

So I got pissed, and just deleted my source list and copied the source list backup, or what I thought to be the backup, and renamed the backup "source list"

Well.. Adept opened.. but it hasn't got the regular functions. There is no "manage repositories" only "quit" on the menu.

Help me get my Adept back without reinstalling Kubuntu !!!

    Go to http://www.ubuntulinux.nl/source-o-matic

If you can get on the internet with your kubuntu box. Copy the custom-made source list and then move it to your /etc/apt/ directory with the name "sources.list". If you're working from windows, print the sources.list from source-o-matic and type it in, but check it three times.

Hi, askrieger. I got Adept up and running again, by using a backup list already in apt, copied it and renamed it source.list. Don't know why it didn't work the first time.

I generated a source-list from your dutch ubuntu link as well, but I didn't get it working. The list generated automatically shows up in kate- fine, but the list won't work when I rename it "sources.list" and put it in apt.

Which boxes do I have to check to get a complete and good list from that dutch page? Do I have to modify the list manually? What are "packages" and what are "sources"?

Thanx for the tip, by the way!

EDIT: Seems like I can get your ubuntu.nl list working when I forget about the unofficial repositories. Some of them are obviously causing me troubles.. Dunno why..
