How to Change the time To AM PM and not 24hour

I hate posting new topics because everyone always tells you to go search the forums to find it.  Well I did and could not find anyone else talking about this.

I am in the US and am used to using AM PM instead of 24hour  I try to change it but it never takes affect.  If anyone can help me on this, it would be great

Rgiht click System clock and select "Date and Time format" and a window opens. In that window select "Time and Dates" tab and change the format

This works for me under Kubuntu 5.10--

        1. Right-click on system clock in lower right-hand corner
        2. Select "Date and Time Format"
        3. Select "Time and Dates" tab
        4. Drop down "Time Format" box
        5. Choose the "pH:MM:SS AMPM" format

I think that you will have to restart the session to change the format of the time.

        Hope this works / helps.
