Kubuntu Seems to Have Broken Windows Vista

    Hi,

I am a total newbie to Linux here however I have followed a guide to install Kubuntu on a spare hard drive in my rig, Windows Vista Home is installed on the other driver,

I have no problems getting into Linux (even thought I dont know where to start)

the problems I have is when I select Windows from the bottom of the Grub menu, windows seems to load but then it hangs on a black screen.

I have even tried running the pc with the windows vista install dvd inserted and this boots up so far and then hangs before I even get to the vista welcome screen so I cant repair my mbr that way?

what can I do? I have tried changing the hard drive under the bios but again...nothing..

    whats gone wrong?

is there not a problem like easybcd for linux that I can run through linux and sort out the booting?

I saw a thread about editing the menu file using a command canned gedit or what ever it was but that did not seem to be recognised via terminal.

    help?

    Thanks

    Scott
