When I add nofirewire and acip=off, it returns more than a page full of new lines at the bottom, followed by the familiar "BusyBox" message you can see above.

But not the same ones as before?
Could you post last 2 or 3 of those? (i know, retyping them manually is a pain... Sorry. )
Trying to boot from the CD, I got this:
- - - - - -
PNPBIOS fault.. attempting recovery.
PnPBIOS: Warning! Your PnP BIOS caused a fatal error. Attempting to continue
PnPBIOS: You may need to reboot with the “pnpbios=off” option to operate stably
PnPBIOS: Check with your vendor for an updated BIOS
PnPBIOS: get_dev_node: unexpected status 0x37 Loading, please wait.
BusyBox v1.1.3 (Debian 1:1.1.3-3ubuntu3) Built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.
/bin/sh: can't access tty: job control turned off
(initramfs)
- - - - - -
To get this response, at the CD boot, I hit F6. Then I think I adjusted the code to read, “nosplash acpi=off.” But I'm not certain of the code and can't reproduce the message.
When I boot the CD with “pnpbios=off” in the code line, however, I still get this response:
- - - - - -

Please help me.

PS - I'm starting a new thread to call attention to the BIOS thing: PnP BIOS Fatal Error.
