X Window doesn't start after actualization

(Sorry about my english, I'm spanish)

I use KUbuntu and today, after an actualization, I've robooted and I found that after typing my password and press enter returns to the same login screen without starting X.

If I start in console mode I can login without problem but when I do startx it gives me this message:

The XKeyboard keymap compiler (xkbcomp) reports:

    > WARNING: Type "ONE_LEVEL" has 1 levels, but RALT has 2 symbols

    > Ignoring extra symbols

Errors from xkbcomp are not fatal to the X server

waiting for X server to shut down FreeFontPath: FPE /usr/share/
    fonts/X11/misc

refcount is 2, should be 1: fixing.
    and X windows doesn't start...

It happends with all my users but curiously if I login as root X Window start correctly with startx

¿Any ideas? I've tryed changing the display driver and monitor properties without results.
    Mas vale duda que dogma.

okay just for clarification is it your X windows that actually doesnt start, or just kde.
in other words, do you see graphics on you're screen, or do you loggin using a terminal?

could you also post you're xorg.conf file and show the output of

    Code:
    cat /etc/group

I see graphics, the usual loggin screen, but KDE doesn't start, it returns to the loggin screen without any message.

If I go to terminal (from the loggin screen) and I try to startx, it doesn't start, only if I loggin as a root.

      Sure.
      My xorg.conf file:

      Code:
      # xorg.conf (xorg X Window System server configuration file)
      #
      # This file was generated by dexconf, the Debian X Configuration tool, using
      # values from the debconf database.
      #
      # Edit this file with caution, and see the xorg.conf manual page.
      # (Type "man xorg.conf" at the shell prompt.)
      #
      # This file is automatically updated on xserver-xorg package upgrades *only*
      # if it has not been modified since the last upgrade of the xserver-xorg
      # package.
      #
      # If you have edited this file but would like it to be automatically updated
      # again, run the following command:
      # sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg

¿Any ideas? I've tryed changing the display driver and monitor properties without results.
It seems to be pointing to problems with the keyboard definition and the font path in xorg.conf.

An easy first step would be simply to run the x server configuration script again, carefully. Maybe it would prefer the 104 key layout - I dunno. At the CLI (do Ctrl-Al-F1 from the login GUI, and log in):

        Code:
        sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
and follow the prompts. If your first installation was to let it detect the keyboard, then maybe this time you says "no" to keyboard detecting, and tell it "U.S. English" or "pc104" for the keyboard. Remember, you can change to Spanish layout in KDE after you have finished fixing it.

        Good luck -- buena suerte!

          No luck

I've check the xconf.log and it doesn't show any errors.
I've try old xconf files without results.
          What could I try next?
Why could KDE starts ok in root mode and not with another user?
